i
ADDITIONAL INFORT9ATION(5-17-77)
CORTEZ F T - NIELSONS, INC.
=:
This information is to be add to the application for permit
submitted on December 27, 1976 and should be considered part of
same. If there are any discrepancies between this information
and information submitted earlier, this information is to be
used.
COUNTY APPROVAL
Please attach the enclosed map showing tracts A &.B tb the
already submitted agreement between Nielsons, Inc, and the A4ontezuma
Board of County Commissioners.
RECLAMATION PLAN
Approximately fourteen of the sixteen affected acres will be
revegetated, This includes the eleven acres of mining and
approximately three acres of perimeter area used for stockpiling
topsoil and reject material. The remaining two acres in the permit
area that will not be revegetated consist of existing cliffs and
walls and benches created by the mining operation. The benches
will be from five to ten foot width, located at ten to twenty foot
elevation increments, and created as material is removed along the
north and east pit walls. The walls will be left at an approximate
1/2:1 slope and like the benches will not be revegetated.
Because of the type of mining, no reclamation can begin until
mining ceases. The entire pit area has been and will be used for
either, mining, stockpiling or processing until operations cease, ~
Therefore, reclamation is not expected to begin before 1987, ~
