Phase IV Weekly Summary No. 32 Page 2
003-2203
roller provided compactive effort, while a Caterpillar water wagon provided moisture conditioning
when needed or required.

Confirmation drilling was performed on underground working UG-545. Boreholes 1 through 8 were
drilled for UG-545 to delineate a possible lateral in an east-west direction underneath the ADR haul
road. Drillin~ for UG-545 is complete to date, with all grouting and surveying finished as of
September 12 Remediation of UG-545 will be completed at a later date.
Phase IVb
Ames continued transporting Soil Liner Fill (SLF) material to the LOB using two Caterpillar 777
haul tracks. A Caterpillaz D-8 dozer and a Caterpillar 14G motor grader were used to roughly
spread and compact the material to a loose depth of approximately 1.3 feet. A laborer was present to
make certain no debris or deleterious material was present in the fill and to account for all the rebaz
stakes used for depth control, ensuring they did not become buried in the fill. Most of the SLF
placed and compacted in the LOB azea was finish rolled by September 15`h
Polyflex began deployment and welding of geomembrane in the Phase IV LOB azea on Saturday,
September 15`", late in the afternoon. Polyflex began deployment at the southeast corner of the LOB
liner azea, deploying geomembrane (80-mil textured LLDPE). Eleven panels total were fusion
welded on the east inboazd slope during this reporting period. A total of approximately 24, 020 ftz of
geomembrane was placed during this reporting period.
Ames completed slope re-contouring located to the north of the new LOB location to form the bench
for the geomembrane anchor trench. A Caterpillar 375 excavator and a Caterpillaz D-8 dozer were
used to excavate and load the material onto 777s for use as Structural Fill (SF) or uncontrolled fill.
Work continued on assorted small fills and grading of SF subgrade in the general area.
No confirmation drilling was performed in this azea during this reporting period.
Phase IVc
Ames did not perform any cut or fill activities within the Phase IVc areas during this reporting
period.
(See Attachment A for approximate construction locations for all Phase IV areas.)
Field Monitorine and Testine Activities
Golder observed construction activities associated with Phase IV earthworks. All construction
materials and soil materials were verified as suitable and construction methods were in accordance
with project specifications. Removal of oversized and deleterious material from all fill areas was
observed.
Golder monitored and documented depth checks on in-situ SLF at the LOB pad. All checks
indicated a compacted depth of 12 inches or greater. All locations were marked and located by
rn~~rv.3z s«m-sepmsm~ Golder Associates lnc.
