Phase IV Weekly Summary No. 30 Page 3 003-2203
Field Monitoring and Testing Activities
Golder monitored SF placement in all the Phase IV azeas, including, verification of lift thickness,
material, compactive effort, particle size, and temperature for compliance with the drawings and
specifications. Two nuclear moisture-density tests were performed on the Phase IVa southern access
road construction. Tests SFNa-O1 and SFNa-02 passed per project specification, as the material
placed was testable per ASTM D698. No nucleaz moisture density tests were performed on the
Phase IVb LOB azea during this reporting period, as material was un-testable per ASTM D698. One
sample of SF were collected (SFa-OS) from the Phase IVa area and transported to the Golder trailer
for index testing. Laboratory testing verified that materials being placed were testable per ASTM
D698, proctorable. Grain-size results for SFa-OS passed SF specification.
Golder observed the removal of oversized and deleterious material from all fill azeas.
Golder observed and recorded confirmation drilling and excavation remediation of underground e
workings in the all Phase IV azeas during this reporting period.
Laboratory Test Results
Golder conducted one proctor, grain-size, and atterberg limits on sample SFa-O5. Results indicated a
passing SF specification for grain-size and atterberg limits, and was deemed testable for compaction
testing (ASTM D-698).
(See Attachment B for laboratory testing results.)
• Meetings
CC&V held a Weekly Contractor meeting on August 28a'. Items discussed include Safety,
Environmental, Schedule, and CQA. The next weekly meeting will be held on September Su', 2001
at 10:00 AM.
Golder Personnel On-Site
A summary of all Golder CQA personnel on site during this reporting period is presented in
Attachment C.
Sincerely,
Bob Nichols
Resident CQA Monitor
PM1UeIVa 30 Aug365eptl.d~c Golder Associates inc.
