• DIVISION OF MINERALS & GE+?LOGY BOARD PERMIT APPLICATION
REGI!L.\F c~PLI:.A'fION ( l13)
PROJEI"I' NAf~11:: I1i,GUL'/I:IVEK PI'f

EXIiIBI'f D - MW1NG PLAN
During gravel extraction. the outside edges of the pond
will be constructed si) that no slopes steeper than 3:1 will
be evident from a minimum of ~ feet above the eventual
surface of the water to tit feet below the surface of the
mater. The slope nrar the water line may be constructed
with a considerably fl<+tter slope to create and/or replace
wetlands. A minimum of ]2" of topsoil will be placed along
the perimeter of the pond. All areas above the water
surface to a minimum of 3 feet below the surface of the
water will receive topsu+l.
B. Moderate Disturbance Areas
1. Backfilling operations will be minimal due to the depth of
the excavation and the small quantity of overburden and/or
unsuitable material expected to be encountered during
• gravel extraction. After the e?:is[ing gravel reserves are
mined, unsuitable materials encountered during mining would
be transported directly to the backfill areas.
Once an area is sufficiently mined, any unsuitable material
that had been stockpiled would also be transported to the
backfill area for disposal.
In addition to initial shaping of the pond perimeters with
the unsuitable materials, unsuitable material may be
utilized to fill some excavated areas completely. This
will be dependent upon the amount of unsuitable material
encountered during mining operations.
From the project access at the northeast corner of the
project, the interior access road for Phase I will enter
the pit south of the site access. This road will be
relocated as the excavation expands to the west. The
general location of the Phase I interior roads is shown on
the attached map. when [he Phase I excavation is nearing
completion, this road will be permanently located approxi-
mately where shown on the map.
A secondary road, as shown, may be constructed along the
south boundary to allow access to the Grant/winograsky
• property. This southern secondary access will eliminate
truck traffic entering U.S. Highway 40 to gain access to
the Delta Electric property for use of their scales.
Duckels Construction, Inc. dba Yampa Aggregates
41230 Routt County Rd. ?1129, Steamboat Springs, Colorado i304S7
