boundary and the highway will need to be included in the permitted
area if the road is substantially upgraded for purposes related to
the proposed mining operation. If the applicant wishes to leave
the permit boundary in it's present configuration, it will be
necessary to relocate the office, scales and parking lot to an area
within the presently proposed permit area and, for the access road,
indicate that the existing access road will not need to be
substantially upgraded.
If the permit boundary is extended, the applicant will need to show
on en appropriate map within the application any new permanent man-
made structures that are located on and within 200 ft. of the new
boundary. This may possibly include the house situated near the
southern boundary of the site, plus as any fences, powerlines,
irrigation ditches, and other permanent man-made features within
the 200 ft. zone.
In addition, if the extension of the permit/affected area boundary
involves new surface owners being situated within 200 ft. of the
redrawn permit/affected area boundary, and these surface owners
have not been notified that a permit is being applied for, each
such surface owner will have to be identified on an appropriate map
within the application and provided proper notice.
4, Mining Plen and Map
Please insert a map scale or scale bar on maps A2 through A5.
Please delineate on the mining plan map the approximate location
and configuration of the 5 acre mining phases to be utilized during
mining.
Please note the location of any existing irrigation ditches that
are situated within 200 ft, of the permit area. If the applicant
is proposing to construct an interceptor ditch along the eastern
portion of the permit area as a means to collect runoff from
irrigated fields for use in gravel washing operations, please note
the location of the ditch on the mining plan map.
Please note on the mining plan map the general location of new
topsoil and overburden stockpiles created during topsoil and
overburden removal operations conducted on previously undisturbed
areas. Also, please indicated whether any "live-hauling" of
topsoil material from areas being stripped to areas being reclaimed
will be involved in the proposed operation.
Please clarify the maximum acreage to be disturbed at any one point
in time during mining operations. It appears that the operation
will involve one maximum 5 acre disturbance comprising the
crushing/washing/product stockpile area, plus one additional
maximum 5 acre area comprising a single gravel extraction area or
phase. If one 5 acre gravel extraction area is not planned to be
2
