WATER CONTROL
There is some indication from the drilling that water
• will be encountered prior to the bottoming of the decline.
Yrhen this happens, it will be diverted to a sump where it
can be reused in the drilling, or if there is an excess, it
will be pumped to a surface pond where it will be evaporated.
At this point, an evaporation pond is being planned. An
approximate location is shown on the map in Exhibit C.
ORE DEPOSIT INFORMATION
Uranium and vanadium mineralization occur as roll type,
laminar, and solution front deposits within the third rim of
the Salt S•Iash Member of the I•;orrison Formation.
There are two horizons within the Third Rim Sandstone.
' The first lies approximately;l~the middle of the rim at a
• depth of 630-680 feet, Tlie;~.S~$ond is located near the base
of the third rim at a dep~h~ of '700-725 feet.
• ~>'
The thickness of the ore body averages approximately
3.75 feet. ; ,~'
The only~~ve~burden that will be removed will be from
the mine incline. The incline will portal in the lower half
of the Brushy Basin Member of the Morrison Formation which
is predominantly composed of mudstone and shale, with lesser
amounts of interbedded sandstone.
After traversing the Brushy Basin 1~lember, the incline
will cut the Third Rim Sandstone, which is the ore-bearing
host.
