e. an existing ranch road that crosses the southern most tip of the pit, will be used as
the access road. Processing equipment will consist of a trailer that contains a feed
hopper, primary and cone crushers, a screen deck and appropriate conveyors.
There will also be assorted flat and a stacking conveyor. Power is supplied from a
generator housed in a van. No other facilities or components are expected on site;
f. tonnage requirements will dictate excavated disturbance dimensions. The bottom
of the pi[ will be relatively level with no slope on any side greater than 3:1.
Stockpile dimensions will be kept to a minimum, since processed material will be
hauled and placed as soon as possible;
g. an existing ranch road will be used for an access road. No improvements [o the
existing road are anticipated since the road has been routinely maintained. No
drainage or runoff conveyance structures exist or are expected to be used;
h. water will be used, when needed, for dust control during processing,
approximately one thousand (1,000) gallons per day. The source of the water will
be the Las Anitnas County Road and Bridge Shop located in Trinidad Colorado;
i. there will be no significant effect on the hydrology and water quality in the azea.
There is no evidence of ground water that will be affected by the operation. The
site generates minimal runoff, evidenced by the annual precipitation as stated in a
letter (Display C) from Tony Arnhold of the Natural Resources Conservation
Service. If necessary, diversion ditches, berms and/or sediment basins will be
constructed to control surface nmoff;
no injury to existing water rights is expected;
k. if refuse and acid or toxic producing materials are exposed, excavation operations
will immediately cease. Exposed areas will, without delay, be buried and covered
with other excavated material and compacted;
afrer reclamation, slopes will not be steeper than 3:1 and Tony Arnhold's (Display
C) recommendation for revegetaion will be followed. The bottom of the pit
should be relatively level;
m. the deposit will be processed on site. A dozer, loader and/or trucks will be used to
push, load and haul topsoil to the topsoil stockpile. After the topsoil is relocated,
the dozer and loader will commence to excavate material (pit run). The loader will
dump the pi[ run into the hopper which feeds the crusher-screen, dumping onto
[he flat belt(s) that dumps onto the stacking conveyor that dumps the processed
material on to [he processed material stockpile. The initial extraction will start in
the Southwest acrd progress toward the Northeast area of the pit. After some
duration, the operation will be relocated to another pit. During these periods of
idleness, this pit needs to stay active. When processing-excavation continues, the
progression will again be toward the Northeast;
