stream banks and at stream bank cuts.
• Land capability unit is IVc.
MAP UNIT Un32B: UNNAMED SERIES 32, 2 TO 8 PERCENT SLOPE
This moderately deep, somewhat poorly drained, coarse textured soil occurs on
gentle to moderately steep slopes. It is formed in mixed alluvial material on the
terraces above and The alluvial valley floors adjacent to Fish and Trout Creeks. This
mapping unit occurs in the west I/q Section 30, T.SN R.85W at 6,600 to 7,200 feet
elevation.
The soil profile in this mapping unit does not vary significantly from the
described series description, Unnamed Series 32.
These soils are used exclusively for livestock grazing. Vegetation is of Salix
willows, Carex spy sedges, Artemisia tridentata big sage, and numerous grasses.
Permeability is moderately rapid to rapid. Erosion is high if not protected with
adequate vegetative cover. Rooting depth as well as ground water depth are quite
variable with slope and position.
Stoniness class ranges from 0 to 3.
• Land capability unit is IVc.
MAP UNIT Un518: UNNAMED SERIES S I LOAM, 2 TO 8 PERCENT SLOPE
This deep to very deep, gently to moderately sloping, well-drained, loamy soil
forms on alluvial fans and terraces. It occurs adjacent to Oak Creek on the first
alluvial terrace, unlike other Unnamed Series 51 mapping units which occur on toe-
and mid-slopes or in draws or swaled areas (see pedon descriptionl~ 05-02-01-082).
This mapping unit is found in small areas in southeast I/q Section 19, T.SN R.SSW
adjacent to Oak Creek at 6,600 to 7,200 feet elevation.
This mapping unit differs from the series description of Unnamed Series 51 deep
phase in that there is a clay loam horizon overlying a silty clay loam at about 53
inches. These finer textured horizons have few, thin clay films in pores and on ped
faces.
Included in this mapping unit are small areas of Cyraquolls and Fluvaquenis.
Inclusions make up 10 percent of the mapping unit.
• This soil has been used for cultivated hay production, but is presently utilized
for rangeland and wildlife habitat. Vegetation consists of Salix spy. willows,
2.3-IS
