and working South along the old ADR road. Ames excavated trench and placed geotextile, Underdrain
Fill (LTF), and Select Structural Fill (SSF) for approximately 500 feet of PU.
Ames resumed SF blast drilling in Phase Na at "D10 Hill" and blasted on April9a', 12's, and 18'".
Ames did not perform confirmation drilling in the Phase Na area during this reporting period.
Phase Nb
Ames continued Structural Fill (SF) placement and compaction activities at the temporary access road
near the old highway crossing, north of UG-494, and west of the new LOB. Structural Fill materials
were placed in horizontal lifts typically not exceeding 2 feet in loose thickness. A Caterpillaz CS563C
roller provided compactive effort, while a Caterpillaz water wagon provided moisture conditioning
when needed. Ames conducted slope recontouring activities at the West end of the temporary diversion
channel and in the PSSA sump azea. Ames began recontouring the Phase III ore slope on the South side
of the Phase Nb PSSA in prepazation for Bedding Fill placement.
Ames began to construct the Phase Nb PU starting from PSSA sump and working West towazd
Highway 67. Ames excavated trench and placed geotextile, Underdrain Fill (UF), and Select Structural
Fill (SSF) for approximately 400 feet of PU. Ames began construction of the East Phase Nb
Secondary Underdrain (SU) working from above UG-494 to the North.
Ames resumed construction of the LOB on April 17w by placing Soil Liner Fill (SLF) over prepared
subgrade.
Ames did not perform confirmation drilling in the Phase IVb azea during this reporting period.
Ames continued placement of Coarse Shaft Backfill (CSB) into "Deep" underground workings UG-203
and UNK-12.
Ames continued placement of Concrete Plug (CP) concrete into "Deep Shafts" UG-201, UG-203, and
UNK-12. Ames placed three feet of concrete in accordance with IFC Drawing 12, Detail 1.
Ames constructed a geogrid cap over UG-494. Ames placed two layers of geogrid in accordance with
the drawings and specifications.
PhaseIVc
Ames placed Structural Fill (SF) in the Phase Nc area at the saddle berm neaz UG-242. Structural Fill
materials were placed in horizontal lifts typically not exceeding 2 feet in loose thickness. A Caterpillaz
CS563C roller provided compactive effort, while a Caterpillar water wagon provided moisture
conditioning when needed. Ames conducted slope recontouring in the Phase Nc azea below the 9724
road at station 7+00. Ames used Structural Fill to backfill over remediated "Deep" workings UG-246b
and UG-521.
i
PI~eIV>51 Apri10-2U.doc Golder Associates Inc.
