Phase IV Weekly Summary No. 39 Page 2 003-2203 Ames continued excavation and removal of the old Highway 67 asphalt, fence, and guardrail located near the old highway crossing in of Phase IVa. A Cat 375 loaded several Cat 777 haul trucks, which • then hauled the waste to the "Sky Dump". Ames resumed clearing and grubbing within the Phase Na footprint neaz the eastern portion of the Southern Access Road. Ames hauled the topsoil to stockpile and the slash to the "Sky Dump". Ames did not perform confirmation drilling or underground remediation within the Phase IVa azea during this reporting period. Phase IVb Ames performed excavation remediation activities for known underground workings UG-232 and 247. If the workings were verified as shallow, a Cat D7 dozer and a Cat 563 roller would backfill the excavations and compact the shaft back to grade with SF. Otherwise, the shaft was lefr open for "Deep Shaft" remediation to be performed later. Ames performed clearing and grubbing of topsoil and removed trees. A Cat D7 and a Cat 330track- hoe removed trees and stripped topsoil from the southwestern azea of Phase IVb. Topsoil and slash were piled locally for relocation at a later date. Ames conducted blast drilling where confirmation drilling had identified underground workings within the remediation zone at UG-216 and UG-202. A lateral at UG-216 was blasted on October 30`h at 16:45 and a lateral at UG-202 was blasted on November 1~` at 16:45. • Ames conduced confirmation drilling on known underground workings UG-204, 206, the un-named tunnel, Tunnel C, and Tunnel D. Ames continued to excavate around and demolish the retaining wall at the Carlton Mill. Ames used Caterpillaz 375 excavators to remove material and wall. Phase IVc Ames performed excavation remediation activities for underground workings UG-236b, UNK-4, UNK-5, and UNK-6. These workings were verified as shallow, so a Cat D7 dozer and a Cat 563 roller backfilled the excavations and compact the material back to grade with SF. Ames performed cleazing and grubbing of topsoil and removed trees. A Cat D7 and a Cat 330 track- hoe removed trees and stripped topsoil from the northwestern azea of Phase IVc, neaz the existing topsoil pile (Located west of the Phase IVc limits). Topsoil and slash were piled locally for relocation at a later date. Ames performed confirmatory drilling activities associated with the Phase Nc construction azea on known underground working UG-234a, UG-235, and UG-246. Ames conducted blast drilling at UG-236 where confirmation drilling had identified underground workings within the remediation zone. Ames blasted at UG-236 on October 30a' at 16:45.
