•

III. Kevegatation: to be completed tirithin five years after permanent
cessation of mining operations. Revegatation species sere
chosen for their palatability, and ability to caithstand drought,
slight salt conditions and adverse soil conditions. The species
selected are at times unavailable due to present lack of demand.
It is expected that in the future these species brill be' more
readily available. Future technology and our o%rn experimental
plots may suggest future changes in the chosen species. All
seeding will be by the broadcast. method and planted in late fall.
After seeding, the surfaces will be dragged to provide e nomimal
coverage of soil. All seeding rates are based on pure live
seed an3 broadcast sending methods. The mixture is as follows:
Crested Flheatgrass 6 n/acre
Sand Dropseed .2 n/acre
Indian P,icegrass l.s r`r'/acre
4lestern Ylheatgrass 2.6 (~/acre
Four kling Saltbush 5.3 ~/acre
Although the Crested {Jheatgrass is not a native it is a:;sumed
that the native species i;ill tare over. The Four fling :ia1t-
bush provides exccllant browse for deed, cattle and other wild-
life as well as shelter for small wildlife species. The mixture
of grasses grill grow and mature at different times of the year
to allow for the variabilities of the B.[,.1.1. grazing permits.
I~fost lands are grated from IJovemb_r thru May, but not always on
an every year basis.
Soil ammendments are not planned at this time as waste rt~aterials
indicate they will sipport plant growth as Ammonium 1Jitrate
blasting underground learf~s a useable nitrate residue. However
future tests and conditions rt~ay crarrant the addition of soil
ammendments. Replanting brill be implemente3 if necessary.
