intercept and divert upland runoff.
Soil Replacement
Topsoil will be replaced on the disturbed areas to a depth ranging
from about five to nine inches. The soil will be replaced on disturbed
areas around the pond above the water line.
Seed Bed Preparation
Prior to reseeding, areas disturbed by the operation will be disced,
or similarly worked, in order to provide for an adequate seed bed.
Seed Mixture and Seeding Rates
The proposed seed mixture for seeding disturbed areas consists of a
diverse mixture of grasses and includes a shrub. The species were selected
on the basis of current and potential vegetation present on the site, and
discussions with personnel of the Montrose office of the SCS.
The proposed mixture appears below. Seeding rates are based on a
critical area planting density of 40 pure live seeds (PLS) per square foot
(drilled rate). Where a seed drill cannot be used the seeding rate
appearing below will be doubled and broadcast. The seed will be covered by
mechanical methods in atta~t to give approximately 0.5 inch of cover.
RECLAMATION SEED MIXIZ7RE
Drilled Rate
Grass Species $ of Mix Pounds PLS/Ac.

Streambank Wheatgrass 25 2.9
Smooth Brome 25 3.3
Redtop 15 0.1
Reed Canary Grass 15 0.5
Basin Wildrye 20 2_1
Total 100 8.9
-9-
