Exhibit E - Reclamation Plan
Major shaping of the site (creation of a pond) will necessarily occur
as part of the mining plan. The postmining land uses will be as follows:
1. It is planned that a pond totaling about 24.25
acres will be created. The area of the pond
will be used for recreation (eg. fishing, etc.)
but no swimming areas are proposed.
2. The other portions of the disturbed area, about
8_69 acres, will be reclaimed by grading,
soil replacanent and revegetation. Such areas
will be used for rangeland purposes and to
support the recreation uses of the pond.
The final planned configuration of the area is illustrated on the
Exhibit F map included herein. The elements of the reclamation plan are
given below.
Site Clean Up
Any debris and trash ranaining on site will be cleaned up and hauled
to the public landfill.
Grading
The side slopes of the pond will be graded to no steeper than a ratio
of 2:1 (h:v), except from five feet above to 10 feet below the expected
water line where slopes will be no steeper than 3:1.
The final surface configuration of the lands surrounding the pond,
except the side slopes as described above, will be virtually identical to
the existing ground surface slope and require little minor smooth grading.
Runoff Diversions
The land surrounding the pit is nearly level. Stormaater ditches
occur along the county road upgradient fran the pit area. Consequently,
there will be no need to create any other permanent ditches or berms to
-8-
