Polyvinyl chloride <br />(PVC) pipe shall conform to ASTM <br />D-1785 or ASTH D-2241. Other pipe <br />materials shall conform to specifica- <br />tions suitable for the intended pur- <br />pose. Antiseep collars shall be of <br />materials compatible with that of the <br />pipe and shall be installed so that <br />;they are watertight. The pipe shall <br />be installed according to the manu- <br />facturer's instructions. The pipe <br />shall be firmly and uniformly bedded <br />throughout its length and shall be <br />installed to the line and grade shown <br />on the drawings or as staked is [he <br />field. <br />Concrete <br />Concrete shall meet SCS Construction <br />Specification 31 or 32 or shall con- <br />sist of a thorough workable mixture <br />of clean, sound durable well-graded <br />aggregate, not less than 6 sacks of <br />Portland cement per cubic yard of <br />concrete, and clean water suitable <br />for drinking not to exceed 6 gallons <br />per 94 lbs. of cement. <br />The cement shall be Type II, IIA or <br />V. Type V shall be used where the <br />sulfate concentration is over 0.2X <br />for soil or 1,000 ppm for water. <br />Pozzolans may be used to replace not <br />more than 15X of the cement by weight <br />Steel reinforcement <br />Steel reinforcement shall conform [o <br />the requirements of SCS Construction <br />Specification 34. Reinforcing steel <br />shall be securely placed as specified <br />and shall be free of oil, rust, scale <br />and other foreign matter. Steel shall <br />be held firmly in place during con- <br />crete placement. <br />Foundation and embankment drains <br />Foundation and embankment drains, if <br />required, shall be placed to the line <br />and grade shown on the drawings. De- <br />tailed requirements for drain material <br />and any required pipe shall be as <br />shown in the drawings and specifica- <br />tions for the job. <br />Bzcavated ponds <br />The completed excavation shall conform <br />to the lines, grades, and elevations <br />SCS, Colorado, April 1480 <br />
