The life of the mine depends on the demand for aggregate in this <br />geographical area and could run for as long as 45 years. <br />e. There is no plan to affect Clear Creek. <br />2. Reclamation Plan <br />a. The plan calls for slopes no greater than 2:1 for the depths of the <br />water. There is no plan for recreation or swimming due to the future <br />use as a municipal water storage (See letter from the City of Golden). <br />~. The reclamation plan is being revised to show the number and size 1 N e~'~ <br />of the ponds. J <br />c. There will be no backfilling as a part of the reclamation due to <br />the type of mining and resulting reclamation. Topsoil grading and <br />seeding will be accomplished on approximately 6 acres. <br />d. Asa result of an on site review by a member of the MLR staff, it <br />has been determined that 4" of topsoil should be sufficient to <br />maintain revegetation. <br />e. Water incorporated from ponds created by mining is not considered <br />a consumptive use and current plans are to not provide augmentation <br />for evaporative losses. <br />f. The operator concurs with the recommended seed miture contained in <br />the basic letter. <br />g. The operator agrees to plant cottonwood and willow trees 5 in a <br />bunch, 20 feet apart. <br />h. The City of Golden intends to use the pit for municipal water <br />storage. See attached letter. <br />When reclamation begins it will progress around the perimeter of <br />the pond at a rate of approximately 7 acres per year. <br />j. The reclamation will continue until complete or approximately <br />5 years after the completion of the mining operation. <br />k. The operator concurs that fertilizer should be applied at <br />40 pounds nitrogen and 40 pounds of phosphoras. <br />
