Direct disturbance to on-site residents.
Mine Reclamation recommendations (include key species habitats for which
restorati~~n is designed).
The Division recommends incremental reclamation of the site so disturbed areas
do not go unreclaimed throughout the life of the project. Perhaps reclamation
on a yearly basis or once one or more acres have been mined would be adequate.
Reclamation should also include fencing cattle out of the newly re:;eeded areas
to ensure establishment of grasses. I recommend seeding with side oats grama,
blue grama, prairie sand seed and vetch. If the gravel mining doee: uncover
the gro~and water, then cattle should be fenced out. This will encourage use
by shore:birds and other wildlife.
Prepared Bar: Ruth Lewis Carlson
Date: 11-19-87
Submitted Eby: Bruce Goforth Date: 11-24-87
This statement is void if not processed within 1 year. -
This analysis does not constitute approval of application.
