RANDY PERDUE CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL LIMITED IMPACT
(110) OPERATION RECLAMATION PERMIT APPLICATION
EXHIBIT C -MINING PLAN
a) Perdue intends to commence quarrying flagstone in the summer of 2000, and to continue
operations for approximately the next 30 years.
b) The entire estimated 36 - 60 inches of soil will be stockpiled for use in the reclamation
process. The pit will be no more than one acre in overall dimension at any given time.
As mining progresses along the path in the direction depicted on Exhibit E-Map, the
overburden will be graded flat for use in storing quarried stone and pallets. Because the
soil will be smoothed for use as a foundation for storing the quarried stone and pallets,
seeding the area will not be required. However, any areas of exposed overburden that are
not used for such storage will be reseeded to reduce the possibility of erosion. Only the
overburden from the first pit will be used for stone and pallet storage.
The mining operation will be conducted in two phases. In phase one, overburden will be
utilized as previously stated. In phase two, mining will proceed in the same direction as
phase one and overburden will be pushed into the previous phase one pit in the
reclamation process. In any case, natural seeds and grasses in the removed soil should
provide sufficient vegetative cover for any stabilization until reclamation, otherwise, the
overburden will be seeded. A forklift will load the pallets on semi-[rucks parked nearby,
which will use the existing driveway and roads to transport the flagstone to the point of
sale. After the strip has been mined, an adjacent strip will be opened. The soil from the
new strip will be used in reclamation of the quarried area to take advantage of the diverse
live native seed contained therein. Additional seeding will be applied as needed in
accordance with the reclamation plan. The total acreage of the quarry is approximately
9.7 acres, as depicted on Exhibit E (although the Application erroneously states the area
is six (6) acres).
c) Thickness of the overburden varies from 36" to 60". The location of overburden used in
stone and pallet storage is depicted on Exhibit E -Map. There will be no waste rock.
The area of the storage sites will be approximately 200' x 600'. That material will be used
to reclaim the old pit upon opening a new pit. All pits will be opened within the
permitted boundary area.
d) The exact thickness/depth of the deposit is unknown. Perdue intends to mine the
thickness/depth of the deposit to the extent feasible.
e) Stone Canyon Road is a county road which provides access to the property containing the
affected area. From Stone Canyon Road, an existing driveway will provide access to the
