actual quarry area, as depicted on Exhibit E-Map. There is a small cabin near the quarry
site which will be utilized as an office. Perdue intends to erect a metal building near the
office to be used as a mechanic's shop, however, that building has not yet been erected on
a foundation. The building will be used [o repair private vehicles and equipment as
needed, and will NOT be used in the quarry operation. Because use of the building will
not be associated with the quarry operation, i[ therefore will be located outside the permit
boundary, as depicted on Exhibit E-Map. There will be no processing facilities or
underground openings at the affected area.
f) There will be no significant disturbances to the land other than those described in
paragraph b) above.
g) The existing Stone Canyon Road is approximately 60 feet wide. The drive providing
access to the quarry operation is approximately 14 feet wide. It is not anticipated that any
improvements will be necessary to existing roads or that any construction of new roads
will be required.
h) No water will be used in conjunction with the operation.
[t is not anticipated that groundwater will be encountered or that any surface water will be
intercepted or disturbed.
j) Because there are no water resources on the property and because it is not anticipated that
any groundwater will be encountered or any surface water intercepted or disturbed, there
should be no injury to any existing water rights.
k) It is not anticipated that any refuse, acid or toxic producing materials will be exposed
during mining since the land has never been used for any other purpose. However,
should any such substances be encountered, they will be handled and disposed of in
accordance with applicable Colorado laws and regulations.
I) By using only existing roads and mining only a small portion of the affected area at a time
and reclaiming said areas upon completion of mining while opening another adjacent
small area to be quamed, Perdue expects that there will be no disturbance to the
hydrologic balance and no off-site damage. Given that the proposed future use of the
land is rangeland, the steps outlined in the reclamation plan should be consistent with
such use.
m) The only on-site processing of the deposit will be stacking quarried stone on pallets for
shipment. No chemicals will be used. The process area will be located immediately
adjacent to the strip being quarried on [he opposite side from the stockpiled soil.
n) The primary commodity to be mined is flagstone for decorative/landscaping use. There
are no secondary commodities to be mined extracted.
