Revision
February 1982
•
The roads will be constructed to have adequate drainage using a
structure such as a ditch to allow water to run along the inside edge of
the road. Culverts will be used where required in areas where the road
bed crosses natural drainage. Natural drainages will not be altered or
relocated for road construction. Drainage from the road will not be
allowed to enter these culverts. Culverts will be adequate to carry the 10-
year, 24-hour precipitation without a head of water at the entrance.
Drainage pipes and culverts will be constructed to avoid plugging, collapse,
and erosion at inlets and outlets. Culverts will be covered to a minimum
depth of 1 foot. A rock headwall approved by the regulatory authority wi1T
be used to protect the inlet end of the culvert from erosion. Water will
be discharged below the toe of the fill through conduits or in riprapped
channels and will not be discharged into the fill.
The railroad is owned and operated by the Denver and Rio Grande
Western Railroad on their own right-of-way. WSC does not have any legal
responsibility for the railroad maintenance.

2.05-35'
