2.05.3
Run-off from the material storage area located below drainage area E and
pond C does not go through a treatment facility such as a sediment pond.
The material storage area is located north of the haul road along the old rail
bed. Run-off from the haul road along the old rail bed does not go through a
treatment facility either. Run-off from these adjacent areas is controlled by
berms and ditches. A berm along the south side of the area contains
drainage to the ditch on the north side of the material storage area.
Run-off from the material storage area and haul road is directed to ditch D-
E1. Sediment traps will be installed in ditch D-E1 as shown on Map 21-1.
The sediment traps will be straw bales, silt fences or other approved devices.
The sediments traps will slow and remove sediment from the run-off from the
material storage area and haul road. The sample point forthis SAE nearthe
dewatering valve for pond C.
Run-off from the pump station located near the Deer Trail Ditch will not be
contained in a sediment pond. The pump station is located below old State
Highway 133 in a location where sediment pond construction would be
• difficult. Run-off from the area disturbed by the pump station construction
will be filtered through a sediment trap such as straw bales, silt fences or
other approved devices. The location of the sediment trap for the pump
house is presented on Map 21-1.
The vent shaft pad located in Freeman Gulch will be considered a small area
exemption. The operator will monitor the flow from the small area exemption
to assure compliance with 4.05.2(3). The operator will use its best efforts to
obtain samples. The samples will be analyzed for pH, conductivity and total
settleable solids. Samples will be in compliance if they contain settleable
solid levels of 0.5 ml/I or less and the pH is greater than 6.5 and less than
9.0.
Run-off from the vent shaft pad does not go through a treatment facility such
as a sediment pond. Run-off from this pad will be filtered through one of two
sediment fences. Sediment fence #1 is 130-feet long with a tie back of 5-
feet. Sediment fence #2 is 30-feet long with a tie back of 5-feet. Design of
the sediment fences is presented in Volume III, Exhibit 8 beginning on page
Exh-8 - 87. Flow will be routed to the sediment fences with a series of berms
as shown on Map 35.
MR-78 2.05 - 33 - 01/07
A PPRo~Ep
Z/rZ/o~
