Minins Plan

Mining will occur by using frontend loaders and dozers. Since the
site is a terrace deposit, the depth to be mined is a function of position
on the slope. The pit will be mined to depths typically in the range of 26
to 33 feet (average of about 30 feet) below the existing ground surface
level. The site will be daylighted on portions of the east, south and west
sides. The pit will be dcy throughout the life of the operation.
Operations are planned to begin on the east side of the permit area
and work toward the west while expanding in both northerly and southerly
directions.
The aggregate to be mined consists of unconsolidated alluvium of
variable thickness. This material lies unconformably over various
sedimentary units.
It is anticipated that the site will be mined less than one hundred
eighty (180) days per year.
Processinz
The aggregate will be removed as pit run and/or appropriately sized
using portable crushers and screens. The sized product will then be
stockpiled and removed from stockpiles as needed. Occasionally, an asphalt
batch plant will be temporarily located on the site. When present, the
plant will be located in the general processing area located on the pit
floor. The plant is a Boing drum mix plant that uses a dry clone scrubber.
Thus, the use of scrubber ponds to collect waters is unnecessary. The
finished product will then be hauled from the pit to the job site as
required.
Life of the Ooeration
It is estimated that about 1.5 to 2 acres will be disturbed per year.
-5-
