On the basis of this rate of extraction, the life of the operation is
estimated to be approximately 6 to 10 years. However, [he actual rate of
mining is based on market demands and subject to change accordingly.
Phases of Minine and Reclamation
It is anticipated that there will be two phases of the operation as
follows:
PHASES
Phase 1 - 9.4+/- ac. To be mined beginning in
mid 1995 for an period estimated to
be about 4 to 6 years. Reclamation
of this Phase to begin upon commencement
of operations in Phase 2.
Phase 2 - 5.0+/- ac. To be mined over a period
estimated to be about 2 to 4 years.
Reclamation of Phase 1 to commence.
Reclamation of Phase 2 to occur upon
completion of operations.
Concurrent Reclamation
Reclamation will occur in conjunction with the mining operation to the
extent practicable. The anticipated reclamation phasing plan is included
with the phases described above.
Access
Access to the pit will be from Colorado Highway 67 along an existing
road. The road serves this and other properties in the area and no
upgrading will be required. The road is therefore exempt from inclusion in
the permit area. An alternate access, not previously existing, is shown on
the extreme north side of the permit area. This later access is included
in the permit area.
-6-
