On east-facing slopes, ~t .s <br />inclined planes of resistant sandstone. Slope is 30 to 70 percent. <br />The Teaspoon soil is shallow and well drained. It formed in <br />residuum with a thin mantle of alluvium derived dominantly from <br />sandstone. Slope is 20 to 50 percent. Typically, the surface i~ayer <br />is brown very stony sandy loam about 3 inches thick. Tha subsoil ~s <br />e:<tremely channery sandy loam about 5 inches thick. Hard sandstone is <br />at a depth of 8 ruches. The soil is neutral. <br />Permeability of the Teaspoon soil is moderate. Available water <br />capacity is very law. If the condition of the understory <br />deteriorates, blue grama, red threeawn, and undesirable fortis <br />increase.
