EXHIBIT D -RECLAMATION PLAN
Note: The site will be reclaimed per the guide lines contained in report prepared by the
Spanish Peaks-Purgatorie River Soil Conservation District. This document is
attached and made a part of Exhibit D.
(a) Since no overburden is present (only top soil) in the mining azea, none will be
replaced. Top soil (plant growth medium) will be stock-piled to be used during
reclamation.
(b) The maximum gradient of reclaimed slopes will be 4:1.
( c) The measures to be taken to revegitate the site are as follows:
(i) Top soil will be spread over the entire mined area to a depth of not less
than 4 inches or greater than 12 inches.
(ii) The site will be reseeded when all mining and crushing operations
have ceased. The top soil will be spread and disced to avoid compaction. No fertilization
is recommended.
(iii) Seeding Recommendations:
The entire area will be seeded to a cover crop of oats. Oats will be seeded at a rate of 25
to 30 bulk pounds per acre. The cover crop will be seeded prior to May ls`. The cover
crop will not be harvested or grazed. The following seeding mixture will be drilled into
the standing cover crop during November:
S ecies Vaziety PLS
Western Wheatgrass Barton 16.0 30
Side Oats Grama Vaughn 9.0 30
Little Bluestem Pastura 7.0 25
Blue Grama Covington 3.0 15
(iv) The grass will be planted with a drill using 8 inch spacing and planted
to a depth of less than 1 inch.
(v) Mulch will not be used in the planting process due to the employment
of the cover crop.
(vi) No trees or shrubs will be planted.
{d) No ponds, streams, roads or buildings will remain after reclamation.
