EXHIBIT C -MINING PLAN
(a) Mining (operation of the gravel pit) will commence upon approval of this permit
expected to be in the summer of 2004. Operations will end when all the gravel has been
mined, crushed, and removed, estimated to be 10 yeazs from commencement, summer of
2014.
(b) The gravel will come from an alluvial deposit 3-12 feet thick containing cobbles
and boulders up to 12 inches in diameter. The topsoil vazies from 0 to 4 feet thick, it will
be scraped off and deposited in a plant growth medium stockpile (see Mining Plan Map)
and stabilized with a vegetative cover until used in reclamation.
(c) There is no overburden or waste rock to be removed to reach the gravel deposit.
(d) The thickness of the deposit to be mined is 3 to 12 feet.
(e) The mining operation will be accessed by Co. Rd. 40.2 (See Exhibit's A and E).
There will be no buildings, plant or office, simply a crusher and a gravel stockpile, see
Exhibit E.
(f) The mining site is currently undisturbed rangeland except for an old 20 foot
diameter by 10 feet high pit-run pile inside the western edge of the proposed mining
operation.
(g) County Road 40.2 will provide access to the mining operation with no
improvement necessary. An 800 foot long by 30 feet wide connecting strip is being
permitted and included in the total acreage to accommodate a connecting road (10 ft.
wide) between the two mining areas. See Mining Plan Map.
(h) No water will be used in conjunction with the proposed mining operation.
( i) No groundwater will be encountered. Surface water will not be intercepted or
disturbed. It will collect (as before) in the natural drainage and two stock ponds located
in the unmined strip between the two mining azeas (See Exhibit E). The pit is expected to
be a high and dry operation, any collected rainwater or snowmelt will quickly evaporate.
(j) The operator will comply with applicable Colorado water laws and regulation by
being cognizant of them and seeing that no injury will occur to water rights.
