• The results of the survey clearly indicates that a majority of the Bear <br />No. 1 area (5.03 acres) is now under the responsibility of West Elk Coal <br />Company. <br />RECLAMATION ACTIVITIES COMPLETED <br />The following reclamation tasks have been completed at Bear No. 1 and <br />No. 2: <br />• Removal of structures and facilities <br />• Sealing of portal entries <br />• Backfilling of portal entries <br />• Reclamation of Sediment Ponds No. 001 and No. 002 <br />(This is due mainly to highway and river relocation) <br />• Removal of signs and markers <br />• Mulching and seeding <br />• REMAINING RECLAMATION <br />The fallowing reclamation activities will be completed by Bear Coal <br />Company: <br />• Regrading and revegetation of Sediment Pond No. 003 and access <br />road <br />• Clean-up of gob, coal waste and debris <br />• Seedling transplants at Bear No. 1 and No. 2 portal backfills <br />• Reseeding and application of appropriate fertilizer to achieve <br />successful plant growth <br />• Implementation of a vegetation monitoring plan <br /> <br />-3- <br />
