Land below the face will be graded to an approximate .5$ <br />slope to improve irrigation drainage and eliminate water entrapment <br />areas. <br />Topsoiling <br />All reclaimed land except the underwater area of the pond will be <br />topsoiled to a depth of 4-8 inches. Topsoil will be available from <br />stripping and will also be removed from Area C to obtain the depth <br />required. Topsoil placed on terrace slopes will be bonded to tiie <br />slope to prevent slippage. <br />Revegetation <br />Revegetation on slopes will be accomplished cvith the following seed <br />mixture: <br />Seed <br />Lbs. PLS/Acre <br />Nordam crested wheatgrass 2.5 <br />Luna pubescent wheatgrass 3.5 <br />Barton western wheatgrass 4.0 <br />Indian ricegrass 3.1 <br />A stubble of winter wheat will be used as a mulch on terrace slopes. <br />Revegetation on irrigated grazing land will be done with pasture <br />hay and grain. Seed will be drilled. Soil tests will be made before <br />reseeding to determine appropriate rate of fertilization. The intent <br />is to reclaim land and return it to agricultural production as soon <br />as practicable. The landowner prefers not to plant trees and shrubs <br />on the reclaimed land, which will be used for pasture. Cattle will <br />be fenced out of reclaimed areas until the areas have been released <br />from bond by the Mined Land Reclamation Board. <br />E-2 <br />
