Wildlife
Wildlife currently makes little use of the area to be mined and this
is not expected to change after reclamation.
Water
Land to be mined is currently irrigated pasture. Most of the mined
land will be returned to irrigated pasture. A major goal of the
mining is to improve the irrigation system on this land. In
Area A a 4.5 acre pond will be created.
Air Quality
The major sources of suspended particulate in rural Colorado are
agriculture and unpaved roads. The haul road for this mining opera-
tion will be paved within the first year of mining for approximately
one mile; the remainder will be treated with dust palliatives. Other
measures to reduce dust will include use of spray bars on the crusher,
minimizing the area to be disturbed at any one time and prompt
revegetation procedures. Water for dust control will be purchased
locally. The mine will be permitted as required by state law.
Reclamation Schedule _
Reclamation will occur concurrently with min?.ng. Final completion of
reclamation will occur within 5 years after completion of mining.
See Figure 1 for diagram.
E-3
