SECTION D - WATER RESOURCES
The mining site is almost entirely within the floodplain
of the Cache La Poudre River in Weld County, Colorado, as
shown on aerial photo.
In this area the Cache La Poudre River is a sand bed
channel meandering across an alluvial floodplain approximately
one-half (1/2) to three quarters (3/4) mile wide.
Flow in the Cache La Poudre River is mainly derived from
snow melt in the high mountains with some west slope diver-
sion. Water rights with the property include 550 shares
of the capital stock of the Boyd Irrigation Company, and two
('L) wells with a total pumping capacity-yield of 2058 GPM.
Considering the above water resources, the applicant's
proposed Reclamation Plan will definitely aid in protection
of wildlife and aquatic resources by enhancing further support
of aquatic life- activities as well as aesthetic values
resulting from the existence of those waters.
~,
-4-
