H/S Properties Pit
DMG 110 Application
Exhibit D -Reclamation Plan
The site will be reclaimed after all gravel extraction using cut and fill technique to reduce high-walls and
create a 3:1 (h:v) slope from the existing mesa top elevation, approximately 20 vertical feet to the bench
created by the gravel removal. The entire site is estimated to have no more than 8001ineaz feet of high-
wall present in the worst case. This will create athree-sided bowl that opens to the south. Overburden
will then be replaced in this area at a depth of 6-10" and then covered with 2-4" of topsoil. The slope
will then follow the natural, undisturbed slope from the bench to the southern half of the property. If the
southern half of the property is used for processing and stockpiling, all gravel products will be removed
and the area will be graded to match the pre-mining elevation and slope of approximately 1 % to the
south and west. Topsoil will be replaced in this area to a depth of 4-8". There will be no slopes in the
disturbed areas steeper than 3:1 after reclamation is complete.
The site will be prepared for revegetation by ripping the sub grade to a depth of 1 foot immediately prior
to topsoil replacement of 2-4 inches of the best topsoil the operator could salvage on the site. The seed
will be drilled or broadcast, at the rate indicated below, between October 25 and Apri130, after
replacement of topsoil on reclaimed areas. The soil will be raked or harrowed after broadcast
application if broadcast is the method used. Straw mulch will be crimped into the soil with tracked
equipment at a rate of 1 ton/acre after seeding. Fertilization will be done in the second yeaz after
seeding. Appropriate fertilizer and application rate will be determined by soil test prior to application.
There will be no trees planted with this reclamation plan. Spraying with approved herbicides in the fall
and spring according to an approved Delta County Weed Mitigation Plan will control weeds.
Proposed seed mix:
St~ecies Drilled lbs/ac Broadcast lbs/ac
Western Wheatgtass 4.0 8.0
Yellow Sweet Clover 1.0 2.0
Crested Wheatgrass 1.0 2.0
Four-wing saltbush .5 1.0
Total 6.5 13.0
The road from the property entrance to the created bench will remain after reclamation for the
landowner's use. This reclamation plan will return the property to a condition consistent with the
General Agricultural post mining land use chosen for the site. It is anticipated that this property will
become a home site in the future so that the owners may enjoy the wildlife habitat they have established
west of North River Road.
