Banks and Gesso, LLC
Exhibit E -Reclamation Plan R~~~9~~~
Overview
OCT 0 2 2006
psi n of.geclamati n
The site will be reclaimed to rangeland and developed Ql,.~g a4,~~a~f~~ef storage
reservoirs will be located on the site, one in the Phase 1 mining footprint, one in the
Phase 2 mining footprint. Available backfill from both overburden and siltation will be
used to reclaim other affected lands to rangeland conditions.
Reclamation Process
Land disturbance will begin with removal and stockpiling of topsoil prior to mining.
Topsoil will be utilized for future surface reclamation as a plant growth medium and as a
component of backfill for mined slopes, Topsoil stockpile berms will be placed as shown
in Exhibit C-2. Stockpiled topsoil that will remain in place for more than one year will be
revegetated with a temporary seed mix.
Concurrent reclamation will involve removal of overburden from new reserves and
immediate placement in areas with depleted reserves that are no longer actively mined.
Overburden will be used to implement final topographic conditions as illustrated on
Exhibit F.
Where side slopes are called for, backfill will be set to 2:1, 3:1, or other gradients as
called for on plans. Where land is to be reclaimed to at-grade field conditions,
overburden will be used as general fill to lift the final grade to near-existing conditions.
In the vicinity of the processing area, siltation basins wilt also result in backfill, as
deposition of fine and other wash sediments are anticipated to account for up to
4,000,000 CY of available clean fill. Concurrent reclamation will concentrate backfilling
operations on smaller areas of the site in succession.
For areas to be reclaimed as rangeland, following establishment of topographic
contours, final grades will be set with the replacement of topsoil. Permanent seeding
and revegetation will follow topsoiling. See below for a detailed description of final
reclamation procedures.
Sundance Sand and Gravel Resource 06015
Lafarge Wesl, Inc. 12 September 2006
