Exhibit Page 57

Structure Descri lion/notes Owner
Fencing Property line fencing on all sides except along river, and Landowner and CDOT
internal pasturage fencing. The fence is a standard 4-
strand barbed wire along the highway right-of-way, with
wood posts of various sizes and condition. On the north
and east sides of the permit area several 3-strand barbed-
wire fences divide pasture areas and mark property
boundaries. These fences are in poorer condition than the
right-of-way fence.
Evaluation The right-of-way fence is approximately 40 feet at the nearest point from any mining
operations or disturbance, and is located entirely outside the permit boundary. Many
posts are in poor condition, and many have been recently replaced, as part of
routine maintenance. Based on soil conditions, no impact on this fence can be
expected.
The pasture and property line fences are fifty feet or more from any mining
disturbance. Based on soil and terrain conditions, no impact on these fences is
expected. The only fence lines on the permit area are temporary electrified wire
fences which are frequently moved and will not be impacted by mining.
Photo 4. The roadway embankment drgps off quickly and the edge of the
right-of-way is on the original ground surface, just above the Home Ditch. Based on
soils, condition of the highway and the embankment on which it is built, and the
terrain, and comparing past mining of sand and gravel adjacent to the highway and
in similar terrain and soil conditions both to the north and south within two miles of
this site, mining operations including excavation of the pit, construction of stockpiles
just inside the permit boundary, reclamation, and other activities, will not impact on
the stability of the roadbed nor will the road and associated strucures be damaged
by activities occurring at the mining operation.
Four States Aggregates, LLC 10 JAN 2001
Application for Permit: Line Camp Pit M-2000-001 FSA-LCP-D2-001
__ . ~
