The conveyor will be located adjacent to the haul road. Haul road and conveyor
corridors are shown on the map. The conveyor will cross over Highway 66 and the haul road
will cross at grade.
4.0 ACCESS
Year 1 )after final permits are issued)
A haul and access road will be constructed from Dowe Flats to the cement plant, including
a new bridge across the St. Vrain Creek. This road will cross Highway 66 at grade at a point
about 550 feet west of the existing CR 49lHighway 66 intersection. The new intersection
will include turning lanes as necessary, and appropriate signs and warning devices will be
installed.
This intersection will be used by all heavy construction equipment and other mine traffic to
access Dowe Flats. Furthermore, for up to two years, this route will be used to transport rock
using 85-ton payload haul trucks. Such hauling will be substantially less than that in the
original proposal for full production hauling.
Access to the cement plant for all vehicles other than mine related heavy vehicles will
continue to be via existing CR 49.
Year 2
The conveyor would be constructed from Dowe Flats to the cement plant adjacent to the
alignment of the haul road. Until the conveyor is completed and can transport rock, 85-ton
haul trucks would continue to use the haul road and crossing. All mine related vehicles would
also use the haul road. Access to the cement plant for all vehicles other than mine related
heavy vehicles would continue to be via existing CR 49.
Y r
The conveyor system would transport all rock and all haulage with 85-ton haul trucks across
the highway would cease.
AGRA
Ee~th & Environments/ Group
