• Legal, Financial, and
Compliance Information The Edna Mine and the Pittsburg 6 Midway Coal
Mining Co. are wholly owned subsidiaries of the
Chevron Corporation. The Edna Mine includes
lands owned by or leased to the Chevron
Corporation, including mining leases from the
United States.
Historic Resources
Management No sites listed or eligible for listing on the
National Register of Historic Places were
affected by mining.
Acid and Toxic Materials
Management No acid-forming or toxic-forming material was
found. Therefore, no special management was
needed.
Topsoil Management All available topsoil was removed and replaced
• on West Ridge and the Moffat Area. For the
Moffat Area, the average replacement depth was 9
inches. On West Ridge, little topsoil remained
since it was mined previously. The remaining
topsoil replacement depth varies from 9 to 11
inches to cover as much acreage as possible.
Revegetation Plan Reclaimed areas are seeded with a mixture of
native and introduced species. After three
years of the initiation of the extended
reclamation liability period, each Bond Release
Block will be surveyed to measure progress
toward the required levels of productivity and
diversity. Then, interseeding and/or
transplanting will be done as necessary. Cover
species are varied to provide a diverse habitat.
Land Management Land for which the mine is responsible will be
managed as rangeland using accepted methods and
• techniques.
Renewal-3 1.0-5 June 13, 1997
