~J Section 779.13 (a) Continued. downstream from the mine plan area, is contained within the general area as depicted on Map 5, North Park Hydrology. The size of the general area has been carefully chosen to be large enough so as to provide adequate assessments of impacts from the Kerr mining opera- , tions, yet small enough to eliminate "masking" of effects from other (existing) mining areas. Both the "adjacent area" and the "mine plan area" lie within the general area as previously des- cribed. Detailed surface water information for the general area, the adjacent area, the permit area, and the mine plan area is set forth in the discussion under Section 779.16. Detailed groundwater information for the general area, the adjacent area, and the mine plan area is set forth in the discusslon under Section 779.15. A detailed description of the geology of the general area, adjacent areas and proposed mine plan area is set forth in the discussion under Section 779.14. The general area, adjacent area, permit . area, and proposed mine plan area with respect to both surface water and ground water are delineated on Map 5, North Park Hydrol- ogy. The "tipple area" is an additional affected area located just outside of Walden, Colorado, the boundaries of which are delineated on Map 17, Kerr Tipple Area Hydrology. The tipple is both geo- graphically and hydrologically removed from the general area where actual surface mining activity will occur, as shown on Map 5, North Park Hydrology. Detailed descriptions of the geology, ground water hydrology, and surface water hydrology of the tipple area are presented in Sections 779.14, 779.15 and 779.16, respectively. (b) (1) Information on hydrology, water quality and quantity, and geology related to hydrology of areas outside the proposed mine plan area and within the general area shall be provided by the regulatory authority, to the extent that this data is available from an appropriate Federal or State agency. 779-8
