Section 779.12 (b) Continued.
•
the National Register. Site farms reflecting this conclusion have
been filed with the State Archaeologist's Office and must be con-
firmed by OSM through consultation with the Colorado State Historic
Preservation Office (SHPO). In any event, mining activity will not
destroy or adversely impact this site as indicated by Map 4, North
Park Historical and Archaeological Sites.
SJA 415
This is a prehistoric site located by the 1979 Powers Elevation
Survey. A single small chert flake together with a triangular
projectile point tip found on opposite sides of Williams Draw
comprise the only evidence of this site. The surveyor concluded
that present evidence indicates this site is not eligible for the
National Register. Site forms for this site have been filed with
the State Archaeologist's Office and appropriate consultation with
• the State Historic Preservation Office must be promptly initiated.
Nevertheless, as described in Section 780.31, Kerr Coal will assure
that mining activity does not disturb this site.
SJA 416
This is a prehistoric site located by the 1979 Powers Elevation
Survey. The site consists of a small moderately dense scatter of
primary core-reduction flakes of basalt and lesser quantities of
chert flakes. Apparently, the site is a manifestation of a small
prehistoric campsite and as such is not in any way unique or parti-
cularly significant. Accordingly, the site was found to be not
eligible for listing on the National Register which conclusion was
concurred in by the SHPO through consultation with the BLM. Never-
theless, in order to allow for the additional study recommended by
the archaeological surveyor, Kerr Coal will, pursuant to Section
31, of Federal Coal Lease C-22777, construct a fence surrounding
this site and assure that no mining occurs within the site.

779-5
