•
Section 779.12 (b) Continued.
State Office, Room 700, Colorado State Bank Building, 1600
Broadway, Denver, Colorado, and is summarized in the Final Environ-
mental Assessment for Federal Coal Lease Application No. C-22777.
The geographic boundaries for each of these surveys are depicted on
Map 4, North Park Historical and Archaeological Sites.'
As indicated by Exhibit 4 and the BLM Final Environmental As~ess-
ment for Federal Coal Lease Application C-22777, in none of the
surveys were found any sites within the permit area that were
listed on or eligible for listing on the National Register of
Historic Places. Results from relevant archaeological surveys
further indicate that there are no additional listed, eligible or
other known sites immediately adjacent to the mine permit area.
The surveys resulted, however, in the identification of five ar-
• chaeological resource sites in or adjacent of the Kerr Mine Area
which were noteworthy, but not sufficiently unique or otherwise
significant to qualify as eligible for listing on the National
Register. No known sites of any kind were found in or adjacent to
the Kerr Tipple Area.
The Kerr Mine Area sites are discussed below according to the site
numbers assigned them by the Colorado State Archaeologist's Office.
They are also located on Map 4, North Park Historical and Archae-
ological Sites.
SJA 333
This is a historic site identified by Lischka in the 1977-79 BLM
Cultural Resources Inventory. This site encompasses the abandoned
Sudduth Coal Mine. Due to the short period of mining activity at
this mine, together with the absence of mine structures and the
poor state of preservation at the mine, it was concluded that this
site was not sufficiently unique or significant to be eligible for
779-4
