Exhibit E -Reclamation Plan (continued)
• revised to a) avoid the unnamed drainage and h) partially leave the north berm intact due to
concerns raised from the CDOW. By shrub planting in the lower meadow area, avoidance of the
unnamed drainage and guaranteeing to maintain irrigation flows to this drainage, B&B should not
significantly impact wildlife in the area. With a strict reseeding, fertilizing, mulching and weed
control plan, it is likely that the postmining vegetation will exceed that of the pre-mine area, which
will also benefit wildlife.
When topsoil must be removed to reach the mineral deposit, it will be segregated and stockpiled. If
the topsoil is not replaced onto a seedbed within a reasonable period of time, (one year), a
vegetative cover or other means will be employed to preserve it from wind and water erosion. This
will keep it free of contaminants so that it remains useful for sustaining vegetation when reclama-
tion begins. The stockpiles will be located in areas where disturbances by ongoing mining
operations will be at a minimum, i.e., along setbacks on the pit perimeter or on the Floor of the
mine behind the active mining operation. The topsoil will be handled as little as possible until it is
• replaced on the disturbed areas. The operator will take measures necessary to insure the stability of
the replaced topsoil on graded slopes, spreading it as evenly as possible. Fertilizer and other soil
amendments will be used as the soil tests indicate.
10. Environmental Protection Measures Employed by the O eration
Mitigation measures taken by BBtB for this operation are listed below:
No more than 17 acres of the site will disturbed at any given time.
2. Reclamation will begin when 15 acres are mined, and will continue in 5
acre increments until the property is completely mined and reclaimed.

Carol Ann Pertrut CDMG Application 39
