eh <br />ESPEY, HUSTON 6 ASSOCIATES, INC. <br />n <br />L.J <br />C2 50 to 61 inches; brown (lOYR 5/3) clay loam, brown -dazk <br />brown (lOYR 4/3) moist; massive; very firm, very sticky and <br />very plastic; calcazeous, many fine calcazeous nodules and <br />very fine lime threads throughout. <br />The permeability of these soils is moderately slow. The vegetation is sagebrush, <br />rabbitbrush and grass. <br />SHAWA SERIES <br />The Shawn series aze deep, well-drained soils formed on alluvium and <br />colluvium on mountain valley bottoms, footslopes, and fans. Slopes aze 8 to 15 <br />percent. The Shawn series is a member of the fine-loamy, mixed family of the <br />Pachic Haploborolls. A pedoa was described 400 feet west, 1,400 feet north of the <br />• southeast corner of section 20, T2N R93W, in the waste dump azea at an elevation <br />of about 7,050 feet. <br />Described Pedon <br />Al 0 to 7 inches; dazk brown (lOYR 3/3) clay loam, very dazk <br />grayish brown (lOYR 3/2) moist; moderate medium granulaz <br />structure; slightly hazd; very friable, slightly plastic and <br />slightly sticky; non-calcazeous; common very fine and fine <br />roots; cleaz smooth boundary. <br />C1 7 to 20 inches; dark grayish brown (lOYR 4/2) silty clay loam, <br />very dark gray (lOYR 3/1) moist; strong medium subangulaz <br />blocky; hard; very friable, plastic and sticky; non-calcareous; <br />common fine roots; common thin clay films throughout; <br />gradual smooth boundazy. <br />• <br />
