Sample point location 4. <br />SHAWA SERIES <br />The Shawn soils aze deep, well-drained soils formed on colluvial fans and footslopes <br />from alluvium and colluvium derived from sandstones and shales. The Shawn series <br />is a member of the fine-loamy, mixed family of Pachic Haploborolls. Slopes aze 8 to <br />15 percent. A pedon was described neaz the FF seam, 2,200 feet east and 1,400 feet <br />south of the northwest corner of section, 21, T2N, R93W, sample point location 2. <br />Described Pedon: <br />All 0 to 13 inches; dark gray brown (lOYR 4/2) very fine sandy <br />• clay loam, very dazk brown (lOYR 2/2) moist; moderate <br />medium granulaz structure; friable, sticky and plastic; many <br />fine roots; gradual smooth boundazies. <br />A12 13 to 25 inches; dazk gray brown (lOYR 4/2) very fine sandy <br />clay loam, very dazk brown (lOYR 2/2) moist; moderate <br />medium subangulaz blocky structure pazting to moderate fine <br />granulaz; friable, sticky and plastic; gradual smooth boun- <br />dazy. <br />A13 25 to 38 inches; dazk gray brown (IOYR 4/2) very fine sandy <br />clay loam, dazk brown (lOYR 3/2) moist; moderate medium <br />subangulaz blocky structure; friable, sticky and plastic; few <br />fine roots and few medium roots; cleaz smooth boundary. <br />C1 38 to 50 inches; brown (lOYR 5/3) clay loam, brown -dark <br />brown (lOYR 4/3) moist; massive; very firm, very sticky and <br />• very plastic; cleaz smooth boundazy. <br />
