s •
State Engineer
December 4, 1985
Page 2
We estimate evaporation losses at approximately 3 acre-
feet/acre per year. Initially we anticipate exposing less than
one acre of ponded water per year to a maximum of 10 acres in
approximately 10 years. Through reclamation efforts it is hoped
that no more than 10 acres of water will be exposed to the atmos-
phere at any time during or after the operation of the pit. We
plan to purchase permanent water rights to augment these losses
or wi 11 purchase the water through the Pueblo Water Board.
We are still in the planning stages of our operation, but
we will be filing a pit permit application during the month of
December. Therefore, your comments and any assistance your of-
fice can supply to expedite our operation would be appreciated.
Should you have any questions or comments in this matter,
please feel free to call me at 589-5105.
Sincerely,
John T, Ungefug P.E.
Engineer
J TU:vm
