<br />RECLAMATION PLAN <br />(Supplemental - 1/13/86) <br />The non-inundated portions of the disturbed pit area will <br />be fertilized with forty (40) pounds per acre each of available <br />elemental nitrogen (N) and phosphoric acid (P205), Areas that <br />will drain directly into water courses or impoundments will not <br />be fertilized so as not to endanger livestock of wildlife. The <br />area will be seeded with the following varieties and seeding <br />rates: <br />Species <br />Variety <br />Drilled Seed <br />Rate (Pls/Acre) <br />Western Wheatgrass <br />Sideoats Gramma <br />Alkali Sacaton <br />Sand Dropseed <br />Yellow Sweetclover <br />Fourwing Saltbush <br />Arriba <br />Vaugh or Miner <br />4.8 <br />2.7 <br />0.3 <br />0.1 <br />0.7 <br />0.5 <br />The seeding mixture might vary depending on availability at <br />the time of planting. <br />In addition 2 tons/acre of straw mulch will be placed and <br />crimped into the soil on the non-inundated areas disturbed with- <br />in the pit. <br />Tree seedlings will be planted as per the Soil Conservation <br />Service's recommendations on those dry areas of the pit. <br />Sufficient distance shall be maintained from mining operations <br />to the bank of the River to maintain the present channel and pre- <br />vent flooring of the pit. However, two hundred feet (200') is ex- <br />cessive and not economical. A buffer of a minimum of approximate- <br />ly fifty feet (50') will be maintained. <br />Topsoil will be removed to a minimum depth of approximately <br />six inches (6") where available. Topsoil will be stockpiled <br />around the perimeter of the pit in such a manner as to minimize <br />erosion. It is hoped that in later stages of development of the <br />pit that topsoil can be stripped from proposed mining areas and <br />placed directly on areas where mining operations have been com- <br />pleted. <br />1. <br />
