Drainage from the southwestern side of the haulage road flows
into Harvey Gap Drainage. Erosion is controlled by natural
vegetation.
C. Outslopes of SP-1: Outfall 005.
Sediment Pond 1 (SP-1}, including the outslopes, covers
approximately 0.4 acre. Runoff from the outslopes of SP-1
flows into the Harvey Gap Drainage. The outslopes of SP-1
were seeded in March 1986. The seed mix used was the one
approved by Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division and is
well established.
D. Discharge Structures from SP-1 into Harvey Goo Drainage:
Outfall 006.
The principle Spillway from SP-1 is a 2" pipe with a valve.
It connects with a small ditch that discharges its flow into
DD-1 and connects with the Harvey Gap Drainage via a
stabilized channel. The outslope of the small drainage ditch
,~ is vegetated with the MLR approved seed mix to control run-off
and erosion.
The SP-1 emergency spillway is about six feet wide and
approximately 12.5 feet in length. Drainage from the spillway
would flow into DD-1 and then into the Harvey Gap Drainage.
Rip-rap 3" to 6" in diameter was placed in the spillway. The
SP-1 spillway was seeded with the MLR recommended seed mix in
March 1986. The vegetation is well established.
A stabilized channel conducts flow from the SP-1 emergency
spillway, DD-1, and SP-1 principle spillway to the Harvey Gap
Drainage. The stabilized channel is about 7.5 feet wide and
approximately 75 feet in length. The channel is stabilized
with 8 inch riprap held in place by anchored wire mesh. The
channel was seeded in March 1986; the vegetation is well
established.
E. Outslope of CD-1: Outfall 007.
CD-1 begins at the east side of the Haulage Road at the base
of the coal processing area. It runs through a culvert
underneath the Eaulage Road and along t}:e edge c` `t=
disturbed s,:rface area, gad empties into SP-1. The total
length o` the C~-i is a~ou~ 650 feet. C7-1 carries water
• discharged from the mine as well as run-off collected from the
Surface Disturbance areas to SP-1. The width of the outslope
of CD-1 varies frcm about one foot to two feet. Ru^^.-off from
G
