VENABLE PEDON PROFILE 11 <br />• Loam 05-02-20-064 <br />A pedon (05-02-20-064) of Venable loam 0 to 2 percent slope, a fine-loamy <br />Cumulic Cryaquoll 138 feet east, 30 feet north, southwest I/q Section 8, T.4N R.85W <br />at 7,173 feet elevation is: <br />A I 0-7 inches dark grayish brown (10 YR 4/2) heavy loam, very dark <br />brown (10 YR 2/2) moist; weak very fine subangular blocky <br />structure parting to very fine single grain; loose, very friable; <br />slightly sticky and slightly plastic when wet; many fine, very fine <br />and medium roots; few coarse roots; non-calcareous; gradual wavy <br />boundary. <br />• <br />B2 7-19 inches dark grayish brown (10 YR 4/2) clay loam, very dark <br />grayish brown (10 YR 3/2) moist; moderate very tine angular <br />blocky structure; slightly hard, friable; slightly sticky and slightly <br />plastic: common fine and medium roots; tew thin clay films line <br />pores; few fine faint (10 YR 6/8) mottles; non-calcareous; gradual <br />smooth boundary. <br />Bc 19-32 inches grayish brown (10 YR 512) fine sandy clay loam, dark <br />grayish brown (10 YR 4/2) moist; moderate very tine subangular <br />blocky structure; loose, very friable; slightly sticky; plastic; tew <br />fine and medium roots; tew fine faint (10 YR 5/6) mottles; non- <br />calcareous; standing water at 32 inches. <br />J <br />This pedon is typical of the series except that The ground water depth is closer <br />to the surface, due to the proximity of the stream bank. The subsoil and substratum <br />do not exhibit the gleyed colors as The typical pedon.
