Drilling will be required to insure germination and
' seeding establishment, The recommended seeding mixture and rates are as follows:
Species % in Mix lba, PLS/acre
' blue grams 30 0.5
western wheatgrass 40 3.25
' sideoats grams 10 0.5
green neddlegrass 20 _ 1.0
' Total 5.25
Mulchigg is recomoended to conserve moisture for the seeding and to reduce
runoff and erosion, Straw mulch should be applied at a rate of 4,000 Lbs/ac.,
with at least 507. (by weight) being at least 10" in length, The straw should
' be crimped into the soil, Grass hay or cereal grain straw can be used if free
from noxious weeds, A manuer mulch can be used, but the minimum application
rate is 20 tons/acre with at least 60% (by weight) being chuncks 5" or more
' in diameter.
