Our responses are in the same eider as
your comments.
PERMIT APPLICATION
The genera] areas of the site that have conditions which would preclude mining aze the areas to
the south of the proposed excavation area and the area immediately east of the small wetlands
area. The area immediately east of the wetlands will not be disturbed by the mining as the slopes
are too steep. The existing slopes will not be blended into the post-mining topography as the
slopes adjacent to this azea will not be disturbed by mining. The area to the south of the
proposed mining area will not be disturbed as the existing topography is suitable for a mountain
home site without altering the grades. The existing grades will be blended into the post-mining
topography as shown by the contours on the reclamation plan. The post-mining topography will
be at less steep slopes than much of the surrounding topography.
The applicant is aware that changes to the "limit of mining disturbance" (as indicated on the
Exhibit Maps C1, C2, and F) would require an amendment to an existing reclamation permit.
MINING PLAN
This mining operation may take place for less than 180 days per year if weather conditions
preclude safe operation of the site. The need for temporary cessation will be determined by the
operator. This site may remain active year `round if conditions permit. If the site is temporarily
closed, active mining of the permit area will resume each spring when weather conditions allow
for safe workingJhauling conditions.
11990 Grant Street, Suite 410 • Denver, Colorado 80233 • (303) 452-6611 • Fax (303) 452-2759
