-_._. S

.1
MINING PLAN
Does the operator anticipate that mining will take place for less
than 180 days per year due to weather or other constraints? If so,
the application should be revised to include provisions for
intermittent mining pursuant to Rule 1.13.7.
Please indicate, on exhibits C1 and C2, the area occupied by the
hydropower conduit that will not be disturbed by actual mining, but
only by access roadway. This information will need to be revised
in the future, via permit modification, should the operator secure
an agreement with the hydropower conduit owner and choose to mine
this area.
Please be aware that the structures, described in the Stormwater
Discharge Permit, that are used to control sediment loss from the
site will need to be incorporated into the reclamation permit.
This can either be handled through this application process or
through a future technical revision; as soon as the Stormwater
Discharge Permit is approved by the Colorado Department of Health.
The structures will need to be included in permit text and on the
permit maps at that time.
Please provide detailed information regarding the location of the
proposed wash facility and the design and function of the
associated sediment controls. These items will also need to be
included on the mine plan and reclamation maps.
If hazardous materials such as fuel, hydraulic oil, antifreeze,
etc. will be stored on site, please provide details as to the
location and construction of an adequate spill containment
structure.
RECLAMATION PLAN
Your adequacy review response indicated that mining will progress
at, and final slopes will have a grade of 2.5:1 or less. Please
correct the contours on Exhibit F to indicate this revised final
slope topography.
Pursuant to rule 3.1.5(1),(3) and (7), please provide an adequate
demonstration, such as a certified engineer's report, that the
maximum 2.5:1 slopes will be stable so as to be compatible with the
proposed residential end land use.
The operator should either sample the area to be disturbed to
document that enough topsoil is available to allow replacement of
the proposed minimum 6 inch depth (12 inches is preferable) on the
areas to be reclaimed, or commit to importing enough plant growth
medium to make up for any deficit. Should analysis of the
overburden prove that it is an acceptable plant growth medium, then
this material could be used under the topsoil to make up the
deficit.
