Waste DisFosal Area, No. CO-030-TU-78-6: <br />a) Trees cut down during development of the refuse lifts will be removed from <br />the site. This will eliminate vegetation debris which creates strong visual. <br />contrasts and would become a visual impact for people traveling the Stevens <br />Gulch Road. <br />b) Sequential development stages and bench configuration steps identified in <br />diagrams I-18 and I-19 (attached) will be followed by CWI in the development <br />of the subject refuse disposal site. <br />c) CWI will maintain a $5,000 performance bond for the subject refuse area. <br />d) CWI will request by letter at the appropriate time as directed by the BLM's <br />authorized officer, that the subject TLUP be converted to a long-term lease <br />under Section 302(a) of FL,PMA. The subject TLUP is temporary authorization <br />to construct and use the public lands in question pending the completion of <br />long-term lease regulations. <br />• e) Excessive watering of rehabilitated areas will not be allowed. Only enough <br />water to meet consumptive use of the vegetation will be applied. <br />f) Refuse will be covered by at least 15 to 18 inches of topsoil and seeded <br />with the aid of mechanized equipment. <br />g) As it becomes necessary, additional topsoil will be obtained from off-site <br />sources. <br />h) To further control erosional impacts, revegetation of disturbed area will <br />commence during the late fall or early spring period immediately following <br />construction. Selected species must include a diversity of grasses, forbs, <br />and shrubs native to the area or with proven adaptability. The plants chosen <br />must be capable of sustaining and regenerating themselves under existing <br />soil and climatic conditions, although supplemental moisture and nutrients <br />may be used during initial establishment. <br />• <br />
