3.1.6 Groundwater -General Requirements
• None of the requirements mentioned apply to this pro)ect.
3.1.7 Groundwater -Specific Requirements
This operation will have no effect on groundwater at this time, however if
in the future it is necessary to disturb groundwater the operator will
obtain all required water permits. The applicant will apply for a Storm
Water Management Discharge Permit.
3.1.8 Wildlife
The operator is working closely with the Colorado Division of Wildlife to
ensure a proper wildlife habitat area.
2. The applicant has planted 12 acres of desert grass all designed for
wildlife habitat and will maintain this wildlife habitat area throughout the
duration of the mine. After mining is completed in each area, reclamation
and revegetation is designed to enhance the wildlife area.
3.1.9 TopsoiHng
1. Topsoil will be piled on the perimeter of the pit allowing ease of
replacement. Due to the time factor in our operation all topsoil will be
planted with 7 pounds of Western Wheatgrass as to prevent erosion.
• 2. There is no woody vegetation present on the site to be affected.
3. Topsoil will be stockpiled on the perimeters of the pit located as to be
undisturbed by mining operations. These stockpile areas have been
included in the affected area and will be reclaimed as part of the
reclamation plan.
4. The operator finds it is better operationally to move topsoil only once.
5. The operator plans to leave a level pit floor and stable backslopes.
There will be no heavy spoil surtaces on this site.
6. The operator believes that the revegetation plan is more than equal to
the present vegetation on this site.
7. Topsoil will be replaced evenly on the perimeter backslopes and pit
floor at a depth of 2" to 8" with the average depth being 4". Upon
reseeding the applicant will apply 40 pounds of Nitrogen and Phosphate
per acre.
• 8. There will be no vegetative material within this site.
