Dimensions of the building are 90 feet long, 80 feet wide, and 32 feet high. The
concrete floor is 12 inches thick, as are the 10 feet high stem walls that enclose the building. The
location of the shop building is shown on Map 12, Mine Site Water Systems and Refuse Area.
At the request of the surface owner, the shop building will remain. The shop will be used to
maintain and store agricultural equipment in conjunction with the postmining land use of
rangeland.
Sediment Pond
The landowner has requested that the sediment pond be left as a permanent stock watering pond.
Upon approval by the Division, modifications will be made to the pond at the end of the liability
period to meet applicable regulations for permanent retention. The location of the sediment pond
is shown on Map 12, Mine Site Water Systems and Refuse Area.
Design details for the sediment pond are presented in Section 2.05.3(4), Ponds, Impoundments,
• and Diversions.
Permanent Diversion ($') Culvert
A 701 feet long, 8 feet diameter culvert diverts the flow of the Starkville Gulch drainage under
the east end of the former mine facility area. The location of the 8' culvert is shown on Map 12,
Mine Site Water Systems and Refuse Area, and Map 17, Postmining Topography.
Design and construction details for the 8' culvert are presented in Section 2.05.3(4), Ponds,
Impoundments, and Diversions.
Parking Lot
The parking lot area, formerly used for the Mine office/ bath house complex, covers an area of
approximately 160 feet by 60 feet and consists of a compacted red-ash surface of 6 inches. No
concrete curbs or markers were utilized. Upon reclamation, the surface will be ripped to alleviate
compaction, and reseeded. The location of the parking lot is shown on Figure 17-1, Reclamation
Project 2 Plan.

350 p,P s/s/9S
Revised ('I'R-I7) May 1995
